NOTE: “CITY COVER” – A LANDSCAPE URBANIST PROPOSAL- PRESENTATION ON APRIL 15-17
Students should revisit older work from the semester and or fully complete the work below. Note that the deliverables have points attached per importance for the semester final.
- (50 POINTS) City “Cover”/Mapping (Mapping refers to an abstract representation of your concept developed as a three dimensional programmed landscape urbanist city roof and drawings) Project – Students will develop programmed elevated trellis/ “roof” like structure – the structure should allow for;
- bicycles
- Walking paths
- Climbing walls (from the ground up to the walkway)
- Cafes
- Student program ideas as well
- Plans elevations and section -detail drawings as well as at least one perspective drawing. Use 18”x24” Bristol for the drawings . Draw detail drawings to help fully illustrate your design.
- Physical model
- Perspectives – at least one
- (30 POINTS) City “Edge” Project – Students should program and develop a clear set of drawings for the edge of their cities in all four quadrants
- Plans elevations and section -detail drawings as well as at least one perspective drawing. Use 18”x24” Bristol for the drawings . Draw detail drawings to help fully illustrate your design.

- Perspectives – at least one
- (20 points) City Center Project
- Plans elevations and section -detail drawings as well as at least one perspective drawing. Suggested – Use 18”x24” Bristol for the drawings . Draw detail drawings at ¼”=1’-0” to help fully illustrate your design. However – JPEGS from your sketchbook are acceptable.
- Physical model
- Perspectives – at least one
- City Housing Project (40 points)
- Plans elevations and section -detail drawings as well as at least one perspective drawing. Use 18”x24” Bristol for the drawings . Draw detail drawings at ¼”=1’-0” to help fully illustrate your design.

- Concept of City (40 points) – Develop at least three diagrams that explain your city project- remember that the “mapping” project is one of these diagrams – see my “taxonomy” blog entry.
- City Site Sections (40 points)
- Draw in building and streetscapes – how do the entry level elevations look at the street level
- Final Portfolio (200 points) – websites are acceptable
- NODES (30 POINTS)
- Plans elevations and section -detail drawings as well as at least one perspective drawing. Use 18”x24” Bristol for the drawings. Draw detail drawings at ¼”=1’-0” to help fully illustrate your design.
